In serious accidents, victims of all ages and some elderly people with weak bones develop pelvic fractures and fractures of the acetabulum (part of the hip socket) due to osteoporosis which occurs during a low-impact drop. These fractures are complex in nature and will require one or more appropriate surgeries depending on the type and severity of the fracture. These fractures are painful injuries that can also lead to osteoarthritis of the hip due to the cartilage surrounding the acetabulum and require quick and precise surgery.
